A weekly gulet charter in Turkey is a seven-night holiday on board a private traditional yacht, shared only with your own group of family or friends – typically between six and sixteen guests. The gulet comes with its own captain, chef and crew, and every day it carries you to a new anchorage along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the Mediterranean. You swim straight from the deck in crystal-clear water, explore ancient ruins and fishing villages ashore, enjoy freshly cooked meals at a long table under the stars, and sleep in comfortable en-suite cabins. For a growing number of British families and friends, it has become the holiday they look forward to all year.

The weekly format is the standard way gulets are chartered in Turkey, normally from Saturday afternoon to the following Saturday morning. It offers the best value per night, allows the captain to plan a well-balanced route that mixes cruising days with relaxing days at anchor, and gives everyone time to slip fully into holiday mode. In this guide we explain exactly how a weekly charter works, what it costs in 2027, which routes are most popular and which gulets from our fleet we recommend.

How a Weekly Gulet Charter Works

You begin by choosing a gulet that suits your group size and budget, and a starting port – usually Bodrum, Marmaris, Bozburun, Göcek or Fethiye. Once the contract is signed, we take care of the details: your food and drinks package, special dietary requests, airport transfers and any celebrations on board. On the Saturday of departure you board in the afternoon, settle into your cabins and discuss the route with the captain over dinner. From Sunday to Friday the gulet typically cruises for one to three hours a day, usually in the morning, before anchoring in a sheltered bay for the afternoon and night. On the final Saturday you disembark after breakfast. The entire week is flexible: if you love a bay, you can stay; if the wind picks up, the captain adapts the plan.

2027 Weekly Gulet Charter Prices

Superior motorsailer6–7 cabins / 12–14from €70,000€110,000–€180,000

Prices are for the whole yacht per week, including the crew, cruising fuel for a normal itinerary, linen, cleaning and water toys. Food is usually added as a full-board package of around €60–€90 per person per day, drinks are charged at on-board prices, and a crew gratuity of around 10% is customary. Because the price is for the boat rather than per person, filling all the cabins makes a weekly gulet charter remarkably good value – often less per person than a five-star hotel.
