From the Airport to Your Yacht – in Comfort

Distances, transfer times and private VIP vehicles from İzmir, Bodrum and Dalaman airports to the five main gulet and yacht charter ports of the Turkish Riviera: Bodrum, Marmaris, Bozburun, Göcek and Fethiye.

Your holiday begins the moment you land. At Aren Yachting we believe the journey from the airport to the yacht should feel as effortless as the cruise itself – a friendly driver waiting in arrivals with your name, a spotless air-conditioned vehicle, cold water and Wi-Fi on board, and a smooth drive straight to the quay where your crew is waiting with a welcome drink.

This guide brings together everything you need to plan that first and last day: which of Turkey’s three coastal airports to choose, how far each one is from the five main gulet and yacht charter ports, and which private VIP transfer vehicles suit your group – from a luxury sedan for two to a VIP Sprinter for the whole family.

At a glance: fly to Bodrum (BJV) for Bodrum charters, to Dalaman (DLM) for Göcek, Fethiye, Marmaris and Bozburun, and consider İzmir (ADB) when you want more flight options or are combining your cruise with Ephesus.

The Five Main Gulet Charter Ports

  • ✓Marmaris – a deep, forested bay at the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean, the gateway to the Hisarönü Gulf, Symi and Rhodes. See gulet charter in Marmaris.
  • ✓Bozburun – a traditional gulet-building village on the unspoilt Bozburun peninsula, with some of the quietest bays in Turkey.
  • ✓Göcek – the stylish sailing town of the Twelve Islands, with calm, sheltered water perfect for families. See gulet charter in Göcek.
  • ✓Fethiye – a lively harbour town close to Ölüdeniz, Butterfly Valley and the Lycian coast.

Which Airport Should You Choose?

Milas–Bodrum Airport (BJV)

The obvious choice for charters from Bodrum, Turgutreis and Yalıkavak. In summer it has direct flights from London and many UK and European airports, and you can be on deck within an hour of landing.

Dalaman Airport (DLM)

The best airport for the southern ports. Göcek is only about 25 minutes away, Fethiye around an hour, and Marmaris and Bozburun roughly 1.5 to 2.5 hours by road. Dalaman also has frequent summer flights from the UK.

İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB)

Turkey’s third-largest city airport offers year-round international and domestic flights, making it a good alternative when flights to Bodrum or Dalaman are full or more expensive. It is ideal if you want to visit Ephesus, Şirince or Çeşme before your cruise – the drive to Bodrum takes about three hours along the Aegean coast.

Planning Tips for Your Transfer Day

Weekly charters normally begin on Saturday afternoon (around 4–6 pm) and end on Saturday morning (around 9–10 am). If you are flying to İzmir or travelling to Bozburun, allow plenty of time or arrive the day before and stay overnight. For the return journey, choose flights from midday onwards. Soft bags are much easier to store on board than hard suitcases – and remember to tell us the number of bags when you book, so we can send the right vehicle.
