Quick Answer

A St Lucia yacht charter combines the UNESCO-listed Pitons, Soufrière and Marigot Bay with French Martinique, about 20 nautical miles to the north. It is one of the most romantic Caribbean charters, ideal for couples and honeymoons. Fly into Hewanorra (UVF); the season runs from December to April.

In the southern Caribbean, St Lucia and Martinique offer some of the most dramatic scenery in the region: volcanic peaks, rainforest, waterfalls and deep green bays. St Lucia is famous for the twin Pitons rising straight from the sea, while Martinique, just to the north, brings French Creole culture, fine food and rum. Together they make a St Lucia yacht charter perfect for couples, honeymoons and guests who love nature.

Why Charter a Yacht in St Lucia and Martinique?

  • Breathtaking scenery: anchoring beneath the Pitons is one of the great moments of any Caribbean charter.
  • Two cultures in one week: English-speaking St Lucia and French Martinique are only around 20 nautical miles apart.
  • Adventures ashore: rainforest hikes, waterfalls, sulphur springs and rum distilleries.
  • Romantic setting: quiet bays, dinners on deck and spectacular sunsets.

Highlights of St Lucia

The Pitons and Soufrière

The Pitons, two volcanic peaks on the south-west coast, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The yacht anchors close by for a swim and snorkel over the coral reefs at their feet. Nearby Soufrière offers the Sulphur Springs, known as the drive-in volcano, and Diamond Falls in its tropical botanical gardens.

Marigot Bay

A deep, palm-fringed inlet surrounded by green hills, Marigot Bay is one of the most beautiful anchorages in the Caribbean and a peaceful place for an evening ashore.

Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island

In the north, Rodney Bay is the island’s main yachting centre. Climb to the old fort on Pigeon Island National Landmark for views across to Martinique, then relax on the beach below.

Highlights of Martinique

Les Trois-Îlets and Anses d’Arlet

South of the capital Fort-de-France, the bays around Les Trois-Îlets and the fishing village of Anses d’Arlet combine soft beaches, clear water and turtles with charming waterfront restaurants serving French and Creole cuisine.

Diamond Rock and the South Coast

Off the south coast, Diamond Rock rises dramatically from the sea and is a well-known dive site. Le Marin, one of the largest yacht harbours in the Caribbean, lies close by.

Saint-Pierre and Mont Pelée

In the north, the town of Saint-Pierre was destroyed by the eruption of Mont Pelée in 1902. Its ruins, museum and the volcano above make a fascinating excursion, and the island’s rum distilleries produce the famous rhum agricole.
