The coastline around Fethiye is often called the most beautiful in Turkey – and with good reason. Turquoise lagoons, cliff-backed beaches, Byzantine ruins and pine-scented islands are all within a few hours of each other. Here are the routes our captains recommend most.

1. Fethiye – Göcek – Ölüdeniz – Fethiye (7 nights)

The classic week. Head first to the Twelve Islands of Göcek – Yassıca, Tersane, Cleopatra’s Bath and the Bedri Rahmi bay with its painted rock – then sail south to Gemiler Island, whose hilltop churches are magical at sunset. Finish with the Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz and a swim below the cliffs of Butterfly Valley. Full details: Ölüdeniz & Fethiye via Göcek.

2. Fethiye – Kaş – Kekova (7 nights)

For guests who want history and dramatic scenery, this route heads east along the Lycian coast to Kaş, a charming harbour town, and on to Kekova, where you can glide over the ruins of a sunken Lycian city and climb to the castle above Simena (Kaleköy). It involves a little more cruising time but rewards you with some of the most memorable views in Turkey.

3. Fethiye – Olympos (one week or longer)

A longer adventure towards Olympos and the eternal flames of the Chimaera. See the Fethiye – Olympos – Fethiye itinerary.

4. Göcek Twelve Islands – Short Breaks

Short on time? Three or four nights around the Göcek islands are perfect for a long weekend, with very short distances and plenty of sheltered swimming spots.
