One of the most common questions we receive is simple: how much does a mega yacht charter cost in Turkey? The honest answer is that it depends on the yacht, the season and how you like to spend your week – but there is a clear structure behind every price, and once you understand it, budgeting becomes straightforward. In this guide we explain the weekly charter fee, the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), taxes, crew gratuities and the other costs to consider, so that you can plan your superyacht holiday with confidence and no surprises.

Turkey generally offers excellent value compared with the French and Italian Rivieras for yachts of similar size and quality, which is one of the reasons it has become so popular with superyacht guests. Below we use real price ranges from our own Bodrum and Turkish Riviera fleet to illustrate typical costs.

The Weekly Charter Fee

Yacht sizeTypical yachtsWeekly charter fee (high season)
38–40 mMajesty 125, FX, Takara One, Illusion II€110,000–€140,000
42–46 mOcean Breeze and similar€130,000–€180,000
50–55 mALC 50, Maraya€70,000–€300,000+
50 m motorsailersOğuz Khan, All About U2, Meira€110,000–€180,000

The charter fee covers the use of the yacht, its full crew, insurance and the yacht’s equipment and water toys. Prices are typically lower in May, June, September and October, and the very best yachts for July and August are often booked many months ahead. Some yachts offer reduced rates for shorter charters outside the peak season.

APA: Advance Provisioning Allowance

On motor yachts, an APA of usually 30–35% of the charter fee is paid in advance. The captain uses it to cover fuel, food and drinks, harbour and marina fees, communication costs and any other running expenses during the charter. A detailed account is kept and shared with you; any unused balance is refunded at the end, and any overspend is settled on board. Fuel is the largest variable: a motor superyacht cruising at speed can consume a substantial amount, so an itinerary that balances cruising days with days at anchor helps control costs.

Other Costs to Consider

  • VAT and taxes – depending on the yacht’s flag and the itinerary, VAT or local taxes may apply; we always state this clearly in the quotation.
  • Crew gratuity – customarily 10–15% of the charter fee on luxury yachts, given at the end of the charter.
  • Greek island costs – transit logs, port and customs fees and Greek cruising tax if you visit the Dodecanese.
  • Special requests – rare wines, celebration set-ups, private guides, helicopter transfers or extra water toys.
  • Transfers – private airport transfers to and from the yacht.

A Sample Budget

For example, a 40-metre motor yacht at €125,000 per week would typically require an APA of around €40,000, plus any applicable taxes and a crew gratuity of €12,500–€18,750. For twelve guests, that equates to roughly €15,000–€16,000 per person for a full week of superyacht luxury, including all meals, drinks within normal use, fuel, crew service and water toys. Flagship motorsailers, where cruising fuel is often included, can offer even better value. See our Bodrum mega yacht charter and 2027 price guide.
