Göcek is one of the best-equipped yachting towns in Turkey, and its marinas are a big part of what makes it such a convenient and pleasant base for a gulet charter. Within a short walk of each other you will find several modern marinas and harbour areas, a lively waterfront lined with restaurants and cafés, supermarkets, boutiques and everything you need before setting off to explore the Twelve Islands. In this guide we explain how embarkation in Göcek works, what the marinas are like and how to make the most of your arrival day.
Because the town is so compact, finding your gulet is easy. Your private transfer from Dalaman Airport – a journey of only around twenty-five minutes – will take you directly to the marina or quay where your yacht is moored, and the crew will be waiting to help with your luggage. We always confirm the exact berth and a contact number for the captain a few days before departure.

The Marinas of Göcek
Göcek is home to several marinas and mooring areas, including D-Marin Göcek, Skopea Marina and the town quay, along with a number of smaller marinas and private jetties around the bay. They offer secure berths, fuel, water, electricity, showers and toilets, and some have pools, restaurants and shops. Gulets may be moored at any of these depending on their berthing arrangements, and some yachts start at anchor in the bay with a tender transfer. Your advisor will tell you exactly where to go, so there is no need to worry about finding the right place.
Embarkation Day
Most weekly charters begin on Saturday at around 15:00. If your flight lands earlier, the transfer driver can take your luggage to the yacht where the crew will store it, leaving you free to enjoy lunch on the waterfront, stroll along the promenade or browse the shops. Once on board, the crew will welcome you with a drink, show you to your cabins and give a safety briefing. Many gulets spend the first night in Göcek or in a nearby bay, setting off for the Twelve Islands the next morning. See our Göcek prices and times guide for details.
Provisioning and Last-Minute Shopping
Göcek has well-stocked supermarkets, a weekly market, pharmacies and shops selling everything from swimwear to snorkels. If you are on a full-board package, the chef will already have stocked the galley according to your preferences, but you may want to pick up personal items, snacks or a few favourite drinks. Let us know in advance about any special requests – a birthday cake, particular wines or baby supplies – and we will make sure they are on board when you arrive.
Disembarkation and Extending Your Stay
On the final Saturday, disembarkation is usually around 10:00 after breakfast. If your flight is later in the day, you can leave your bags at the marina and enjoy a final lunch in town, or we can arrange a transfer to a hotel in Göcek, Fethiye or Dalyan if you would like to extend your holiday.
