Bodrum is where the Turkish blue cruise was born – and for British travellers it is one of the easiest and best-value ways to spend a week on a private yacht. Direct flights from London, Manchester and Birmingham land at Bodrum–Milas airport in around four hours, and within an hour you can be stepping aboard a wooden gulet with your own captain, chef and crew.
How a Private Gulet Charter from Bodrum Works
You charter the whole yacht for your group – usually Saturday to Saturday – and the boat comes with a professional Turkish crew: a captain, a chef and one or more deckhands or hosts. You choose the route with the captain, swim in a different bay every day, and return to the boat for freshly cooked meals. There are no other guests on board.
- Charter fee: the yacht, crew, fuel for a standard route, bed linen and towels
- Food & drinks: usually booked separately as a menu package – see our guide to food on a gulet
- Extras: private marina nights, Greek island fees, crew gratuity (typically 5–10%)

Where Can You Sail from Bodrum?
From Bodrum the classic weekly routes are the Gulf of Gökova (pine-fringed bays, English Harbour, Sedir Island), the Hisarönü Gulf and Datça peninsula, the Bodrum peninsula itself, and – with the right paperwork – the Greek islands of Kos, Pserimos and Symi. Our best blue cruise routes from Bodrum guide explains each one.

Bodrum–Milas (BJV) has direct summer flights from most major UK airports, and Dalaman (DLM) is an alternative for Marmaris, Göcek and Fethiye departures. We arrange private transfers straight to the marina – see our airport transfer guide.
