Icarus – Modern 20 m 4-Cabin Gulet Charter in Bodrum with Air Conditioning
Icarus is one of the newest boats in her class: a 20-metre gulet launched in 2016 with a bright, contemporary interior, four air-conditioned double cabins and room for eight guests. Light-oak panelling, white upholstery and turquoise accents give her a fresh, almost boutique-hotel feel that sets her apart from older wooden gulets.
With a crew of three and a cruising speed of around 10 knots, Icarus is a smart choice for a private gulet charter from Bodrum that reaches further – the Datça peninsula, Knidos and the Gökova Gulf – while keeping the price of a 4 cabin gulet rental refreshingly reasonable.

Cabins and Accommodation on Gulet Icarus
All four cabins on Icarus are doubles with air conditioning, private bathrooms and a light, modern finish – a real comfort upgrade on hot July and August nights. The layout works perfectly for four couples or a family with older children looking for a comfortable gulet holiday in Turkey.

Life on Board: Fresh Design, Classic Gulet Spirit
The covered aft deck is the heart of the boat: a wraparound sofa, a dining table for eight and plenty of shade for long lunches. Up front, the sun deck cushions are where you will spend the afternoons between swims.
Inside, an air-conditioned saloon with a modern galley offers a cool retreat at midday. The crew of three keeps everything running smoothly, from morning coffee to dinner at anchor under the stars.

Turkish Cuisine and Dining on Icarus
Turkish cuisine is one of the highlights of a gulet charter in Turkey. On board Icarus, the chef prepares fresh, home-style dishes with ingredients bought daily in local markets in Bodrum, Marmaris, Göcek and Fethiye. Each day starts with a traditional Turkish breakfast – fresh simit and bread, village cheeses, olives, tomatoes and cucumbers, honey and clotted cream (kaymak), menemen and eggs cooked to order, served with Turkish tea.
Lunch at anchor brings colourful Aegean mezes – haydari, ezme, stuffed vine leaves, smoky aubergine and olive-oil vegetables – followed by grilled sea bass or sea bream, octopus or chicken şiş. Dinners under the stars feature slow-cooked lamb, kebabs and the catch of the day, finished with baklava, seasonal fruit and Turkish coffee. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, kosher-friendly and children’s menus are all available on request, and the bar can be stocked with your favourite wines, rakı, champagne and cocktails.
Famous Restaurants Along the Coast – Ashore by Tender
A private yacht lets you combine meals on board with dinners at some of the most famous restaurants on the Turkish Riviera. The captain anchors close to shore and the crew takes you there by tender, waits or returns at the agreed time and brings you back for a late swim or a nightcap on deck. Around Bodrum, favourites include Yalıkavak Marina (home to Nusr-Et, Zuma and Sakhalin), the fishing village of Gümüşlük with seafront fish restaurants such as Mimoza, and chic Türkbükü with Macakızı. Near Marmaris and Datça, guests love the fish restaurants of Selimiye such as Sardunya, Manzara in Söğüt and the restaurants of D-Maris Bay, while around Göcek and Fethiye you can dine at Özcan in Göcek, D’Breeze at D-Resort or Adaia, a bay restaurant reached only by sea.
Many quiet bays in Gökova, Hisarönü and the Göcek islands also have small family-run restaurants with their own jetties, serving fresh fish, gözleme and village dishes. Aren Yachting can reserve your tables in advance – essential in July and August – and plan your route so that every evening ends at the right spot. Restaurant availability depends on the season and reservations.
Where to Cruise: Bodrum, Knidos and the Datça Peninsula
Icarus is based in Bodrum and can also start from Göcek, Marmaris or Fethiye on request. Her extra speed makes the classic run to Knidos and the Datça peninsula easy, with time to swim at Aquarium Bay, Palamutbükü and Mersincik along the way. A sample week follows our Bodrum – Knidos – Datça peninsula itinerary:
- Day 1 – Bodrum: Board in the afternoon in Bodrum harbour, meet the crew and enjoy dinner on deck below the castle.
- Day 2 – Karaada & Akvaryum Bay: Swim at the hot springs of Karaada and in the clear water of Aquarium Bay before an evening at anchor.
- Day 3 – Knidos: Cross to the ancient city of Knidos at the tip of the Datça peninsula and explore its temples and theatre at sunset.
- Day 4 – Palamutbükü: Long pebble beach, fish restaurants and a lazy afternoon of swimming and paddleboarding.
- Day 5 – Datça: Stroll the harbour town of Datça, famous for almonds, honey and thyme, and visit Eski Datça.
- Day 6 – Mersincik: A remote, pine-backed bay with turquoise water – perfect for snorkelling.
- Day 7 – Kargı & Bodrum peninsula: Final swim stops on the way back towards Bodrum.
- Day 8 – Bodrum: Breakfast on board and disembarkation in the morning.
